Islamic Education

Islam in Sri Lanka is practiced by 9.7% of the population of Sri Lanka. The Muslim community is divided into three main ethnic groups: the Sri Lankan Moors, the Indian Muslims and the Malays, each with its own history and traditions. There are 749 Muslim Schools in Sri Lanka, and 205 madrasas which teaching Islamic Education, and there is also an Islamic university in Beruwala (Jamiya Naleemiya).

The University in the Buddhist and Pali University aims to achieve excellence, by means of providing knowledge in Buddhism, Pali and related fields and enabling students to reach high standards in virtue, knowledge in the Dhamma and relevant skills and to foster and nourish, both in and outside Sri Lanka, a way of life exemplified in the teaching of the Buddha.

The ecological balance of nature is very important to lead a healthy life. Presently Natural resources throughout the world are depleting at a rapid rate due to unawareness of the community on the values and important of the environment and also due to peoples never ending thirst for wealth. Here in Sri Lanka many institutes educate the value of the nature along with the environment.

Vocational Training

Vocational education and training in Sri Lanka is managed by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of the Ministry of Vocational & Technical Training. Training includes course based curriculum at vocational technical training centers and apprenticeship at private or public organizations. Higher education in vocational fields could be archived though several universities. The National Vocational Qualifications Systems in Sri Lanka (NVQSL) provides a structured seven levels of qualifications from Level 1 to Level 7. They cover a wide range of fields such as dressmaking, beauty culture, hairdressing, stitching,carpentry, plumbing, painting and so on.
