Gajitha & Kulisa to represent Sri Lanka at the world schools chess championships 2015
Gajitha (U-15) & Kulisa Nanayakkara (U-13) of Gateway College have been selected to represent the Sri Lankan Chess Squad at the World Schools Chess Championships 2015 to be held in Pattaya, Thailand from 6th to 15th May 2015. Gajitha won 5 out of 6 games and ranked 6th and Kulisa won 5.5 out of 6 games and selected as the official player (U-13) at the finals of the Sri Lanka Schools Individual Chess Championship 2015 held at Moratuwa by beating better known players in the school chess arena to qualify for the World Schools Chess Championships 2015. World Schools Individual Chess Championship 2012 held at Iasi, Romania
8th Asian Schools’ individual Chess Championship 2012 held at New Delhi, India
9th Asian School Individual Chess Championship 2013 held at Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka
Asian Youth Chess Championship 2013 held at Sari, Iran World Youth Chess Championship 2013 held at Al Ain, UAE 10th Asian School’s Individual Chess Championship 2014 held at Taichung, Taiwan Master J A G Ganganath Nanayakkara represented Sri Lanka at the 9th Asian School Individual Chess Championship 2013 held at Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka.
Asian Youth Chess Championship 2013 held at Sari, Iran World Youth Chess Championship 2013 held at Al Ain, UAE 10th Asian Schools Chess Championship 2014, Taichung Taiwan and he also selected to represent Sri Lanka at the World schools Chess Championship 2014 which was held at Brazil.
