Sri Lanka shares sorrow for the loss of lives in Ghana
60 people injured and more than 150 have died in a devastating petrol station blow out during heavy flooding in Ghana’s capital, Accra late on Wednesday. The Government is deeply distressed by the tragic deaths that occurred as a result of a fire that erupted in a petrol station in Accra at a time when the people of Ghana were already disturbed and trying to cope with heavy rain and floods, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said Friday.
“Sri Lanka offers its condolences to the families of the victims of this tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected at this difficult time,” Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement.
“We assure the Government and the people of Ghana, Sri Lanka’s firm solidarity at this time of national mourning,” the Ministry statement said.
