Alfred Prasad Back In Sri Lanka
Michelin-Starred Chef Alfred Prasad Returns to Sri Lanka!
Trekurious takes things up a notch in 2015 with their first Michelin-starred dining experience – a series of curated dinners and a Masterclass with Michelin-starred Chef Alfred Prasad.
Chef Prasad is widely celebrated for receiving a Michelin Star at the young age of 29 and for single handedly changing the face of modern Indian cuisine in the United Kingdom during his tenure as Executive Chef at the famous Tamarind restaurant in London.
The series starts off in Colombo on March 19 at the Mount Lavinia Hotel with a magical six-course menu, where your favourite ingredients will be imaginatively used to showcase Chef Prasad’s talent for reinventing traditional Indian cuisine. Bursts of rich subcontinent flavours will be balanced, using the subtle techniques that won him a Michelin star, to harmonize taste and texture delicately on your palette. A handpicked selection of wine will accompany this sensory, al-fresco dining experience.
In Galle, Chef Prasad will entertain you with a seven-course gastronomic drama at the Aditya Resort on March 22, where the unabashed colors and robust flavors of ‘darbar’ styled Indian street food will be skillfully and meticulously married to ingredients of regal culinary lineage such as soft-shell crab and scallop. A supporting cast of sun downers, home-made ice cream, and the balmy tranquility of the southern coast await the eager foodie.
Trekurious together with Chef Prasad then brings you a rare opportunity to hone your culinary skills under the tutelage of a Michelin-starred chef. On March 22, Chef Prasad will host a masterclass at the Aditya Resort, Galle, where you will work alongside him in preparing a three-course meal using some of his award-winning recipes. This hands-on session will be followed by a leisurely lunch hosted by Chef Prasad.
