The programme is offered through the University of London International Programmes and the academic direction of the Master of Laws (LL.M) is provided jointly by the Departments of Law of Queen Mary (QMUL) and University College London (UCL). Academics of the University of London Law Schools plan the structure and content of the programme, develop and write study materials, set the examination papers and mark scripts. This ensures that the students world around are marked to international standards by the same examiners, differentiating this programme from the other programmes offered in Sri Lanka. Importantly, when students join the Postgraduate Laws programme of the University of London International Programmes, they join an international community of high academic achievers which truly sets them apart.

Am I eligible...?

The LL.M from University of London is an internationally renowned postgraduate degree comparable to an MBA in Business and Management. Thus it is a valuable qualification for both legal and non-legal professionals offering flexibility and enabling its students to tailor the programme to meet their personal and professional interests without necessarily specialising in one area of law.

Students interested do not necessarily need to be a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) graduate to commence this programme which is one of the unique features. Applicants can commence the programme if the first degree held is in-line with the desired specialisation in the LL.M programme. Even if the applicants are non-graduates, but if you possess work experiences in a related field for over 5 year, they can commence the programme from Postgraduate Certificate in Laws and progress up. Non-legal professionals, practising lawyers, graduates or, individuals who are keen to enhance their prospects with current or prospective employers, there is an option to suit you via this programme.

The assessment of the programme is purely exam based and examination sessions are held twice a year which surely provides the flexibility and convenience to the applicants to manage and spread their study load to the side of their other commitments. One of the inimitable features of this programme is that the students can earn three different qualifications in the process of completing their studies namely; Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and Master of Laws (LL.M). Moreover, if a student wishes, he/she can specialise in three different specialisations in the said levels. This further provides the students to manage and build their awards progressively.
