Studying Healthcare and Medicine
In the field of healthcare, Sri Lanka gives you the option to choose whether you want to study Eastern or Western medicine. You could apply for a formal medical degree and begin on the road to becoming a doctor, or study the traditional art of Ayurveda and practice holistic methods. You could also follow a course to become a caregiver, such as an occupational therapist.
Most aspiring medical students in Sri Lanka apply to State Universities with their GCE A-Level results. There are currently many private universities that award medical degrees. An education in traditional medicine can be obtained from several institutes around the country, governed by the Department of Ayurveda.
