Course Details : Programme Overview
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree aims to develop students’ understanding of the area of Business Administration and Management and develop practical skills appropriate for careers in this area. Theory and practice are given equal emphasis in order to provide a holistic understanding of the role of Business Administration as well as knowledge of and skills associated with business start-up, growth and innovation.
This program allows students to evaluate the complexity of modern international business organizations, the intricate relationships that exist between businesses, the social frameworks in which they function and the challenges of administration at all levels.
The curriculum is diverse and stresses the application of knowledge within a business environment. Students explore the principles of accounting, finance, management, marketing, economics and consumer behaviour.
BBA is a 3 year full-time degree. This program comprises of lectures , research projects, individual/ group presentations, tutorials and group discussions. After the first 2 years of the degree you will be awarded a Higher National Diploma from the Scottish Qualification Authority. At the end of 3 years you will be awarded the BBA from the Heriot-Watt University.
In the first two years, all Business Management students follow a common programme, which provides a strong grounding in the principles of modern business management and also introduces the more functional areas of business and management including: Marketing; Human Resource Management; Commercial Law; and Operations Management. During the third year Business Administration students take a range of specialist Administration courses such as Business Research Methods, Strategic Management and Innovation Management
