Modules

Strategic Management

The module provides an overview of the strategic management process and enables students to gain appreciation of the changing environment and distinctive contexts within which organizations operate. Consideration is given to analysis of organizations and their environments, formulation of specific strategic options and to how these can be evaluated. The leadership and management issues concerned with implementing strategic options are considered so that the nature and complexities of strategic change can be clearly understood.

Critical Perspective in Leadership Management

The module provides an overview of the strategic management process and enables students to gain an appreciation of the changing environment and distinctive contexts within which organizations operate. Consideration is given to the analysis of organizations and their environments, formulation of specific strategic options and to how these can be evaluated. The leadership and management issues concerned with implementing strategic options are considered so that the nature and complexities of strategic change can be clearly understood. Appropriate concepts and frameworks are utilized for analyzing case study material drawn from various organizational contexts.

Project Management

You are introduced to the basic concepts of project management within a school setting and build on the role of the project manager in managing project risk, teams and organizational change, addressing project management from feasibility to post implementation

Business Research & Project

The project is intended to develop students' capacity to undertake an independent piece of research. In addition the module will provide through a taught element and underpinning, understanding and application of business research methods. This will enable students to demonstrate a systematic approach to research, analysis and evaluation within a structured project framework, including project outcome evaluation and reflection on their personal development.
