International Foundation Programme
Course Details :
The collaboration: Royal Institute of Colombo and University of London has launched a new academic pathway to students qualified in their ordinary level examinations, GCE, GCSE or IGCSE. The programme is offered with the Academic direction of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), one of the top tertiary education institutes in the world for Economics.
The University of London International Foundation Programme is known to be a challenging and inspiring programme that has been designed to provide its student with the skills and knowledge to prepare them to be valuable assets in the job market. The newly introduced programme will also provide the students with the required and the necessary groundwork to prepare them for their undergraduate studies. The programme is equivalent in standard to qualifications studied in year 13 in a school (e.g. ‘A’ levels - when students successfully complete the programme they will gain guaranteed entry to an LSE-directed degree offered by the University of London International Programmes).
Students planning to pursue their degree studies in the field of economics, law, accounting, finance, mathematics, management and social sciences and other related fields can be ahead of their peers in the conservative route of A/Ls. The programme has been developed with the concentration of fulfilling the pre-requisites for the LSE-led diploma and degree programmes thus enabling the students to save one year of their academic life.
The programme offers 1 compulsory course (Mathematics and Statistics) and 5 elective courses where students are required to select 3 in order to complete the programme. Courses at offer at Royal Institute are: Mathematics and Statistics, Economics, International Relations, Sociology, Pure Mathematics.
